I feel the way. Guyana is the one place I would like to call home in my retirement years but as was mentioned before, safety is a big issue. Its a run-away crime riddled society BUT my hope is that the ministry in charge of its security is working diligently to rid the country of this problem. So many would like to retire there. In the long run it will prove be a good thing not only for the country's economy but for the people to have fresh/new ideals as to how they should live.

The Blue Saki is indeed a symbol of my beautiful Guyana. I doubted another paradise existed on earth. Sadly, all of that has changed in the last forty years since I left its shores for Australia. A pity we will no longer have the freedom to roam the streets without having to look behind our shoulder. Peace to everyone who still resides there and rest assure, my navel string is buried there.

So delightful to see this beautiful photo. It reminds us all living abroad, how enriched Guyana is, and how sad that politics and power have destroyed what should have been a powerful country and one that should lead. I have lived in the UK most of my life, but Guyana is my home, and I remember it as paradise.

Well done to the photographer who took this photo.
